Amankora Luxury Resorts in Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey and Bumthang Valleys
Located at the far end of Paro Valley and near the ruined fortress of Drugyel Dzong, Amankora is conceptualized as a Bhutanese village. Approaching on a winding path of pine needles you arrive at a stone-flagged courtyard surrounded by lime-washed stone buildings. Emphasis is placed on the superlative spa facilities, but the library, living room and dining room have true class, and enjoy views of Bhutan's second highest peak, Jumolhari. The suites with their king-size beds, traditional bukhari wood-burning stoves, and terrazzo baths, are open plan luxury. There are no televisions at Amankora. Other smaller lodges by Aman were opened in 2006 at Thimphu, Punakha, Gangtey and Jakar. The Punakha property is particularly attractive. These too may be booked through Bridge To Bhutan.
